Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2026

1. About Us

These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply between you ("Learner", "Student", or "you") and Total Skills Ltd (Company Registration Number 13304241, VAT Registration Number 381693467), trading as Total Skills, whose registered office is at Office J, Arnold Business Centre, Brookfield Road, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 7ER ("we", "us", "our", or "Total Skills").

Total Skills is a City & Guilds Approved Centre (Centre Number: 009512) delivering accredited training courses across a range of vocational disciplines.

These Terms govern all training services provided by Total Skills, including classroom-based cohort courses, self-paced distance learning programmes, examinations, assessments, and any related services. By enrolling on any course, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. Please read them carefully before completing your enrolment.

2. Age Requirement

All courses offered by Total Skills are available to learners aged 18 and over only. By enrolling on a course, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age at the date of enrolment.

Your date of birth is collected during the enrolment process for the purposes of identity verification and awarding body registration. If we discover that a learner is under 18, we reserve the right to cancel the enrolment and issue a full refund of any fees paid.

3. Enrolment

A binding contract is formed between you and Total Skills when your completed enrolment form has been submitted and we have received either full payment or the first instalment of an agreed payment plan. Until both conditions are met, no contract exists.

Course places are subject to availability and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to refuse enrolment at our discretion without providing a reason.

Information Collected at Enrolment

During enrolment, we collect the following information to administer your course, meet awarding body requirements, and comply with our legal obligations:

  • Full name and date of birth
  • Email address and telephone number
  • Home address
  • Gender
  • Emergency contact details
  • Medical conditions or learning needs relevant to your training

A digital signature is required to confirm your acceptance of these Terms and your enrolment details. This signature is stored securely and forms part of your enrolment record.

Once a certificate has been issued for your course, your enrolment data is locked and can no longer be amended. If you need to correct any details, please contact us before your course is completed.

4. Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a statutory right to cancel your enrolment within 14 daysof your order being confirmed (the "cooling-off period"), without giving any reason.

To exercise your right to cancel within the cooling-off period, you must inform us by one of the following methods:

If you cancel within the cooling-off period, we will refund all payments made within 5 working days, and no later than 14 calendar days from the date we receive your cancellation notice. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

5. Cancellation Fees (Cohort/Classroom Courses)

If you cancel your enrolment on a cohort or classroom-based course after the 14-day cooling-off period, the following cancellation fees apply. Fees are calculated as a percentage of the full course price, regardless of the amount you have paid to date:

  • 14 or more days before the course start date: 10% cancellation fee
  • 3 to 13 days before the course start date: 50% cancellation fee
  • 0 to 2 days before the course start date, or no-show: 100% of the course fee (non-refundable)

Your refund is calculated as the amount you have paid minus the applicable cancellation fee. If the cancellation fee exceeds the amount you have paid, no refund is due and the outstanding balance remains payable.

Cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected]. The date we receive your written cancellation determines which fee tier applies.

6. Date Changes (Cohort Courses)

If you wish to move your enrolment to a different cohort date, the following fees apply. Fees are calculated as a percentage of the full course price:

  • 14 or more days before the course start date: 5% date change fee
  • 3 to 13 days before the course start date: 50% date change fee
  • 0 to 2 days before the course start date: Date changes are not permitted

Date changes are subject to availability on the requested alternative date. If no suitable date is available, you may cancel under the terms set out in section 5.

7. Learner Transfer (Cohort Courses)

You may transfer your place on a cohort course to another person, provided the replacement learner meets any course prerequisites and is aged 18 or over. The following transfer fees apply, calculated as a percentage of the full course price:

  • 14 or more days before the course start date: 5% transfer fee
  • 3 to 13 days before the course start date: 25% transfer fee
  • 0 to 2 days before the course start date: 50% transfer fee

The replacement learner must complete a full enrolment form before the transfer can be processed. You remain responsible for any outstanding balance on the original enrolment until the transfer is confirmed.

8. Self-Paced Courses

Self-paced (distance learning) courses are subject to the following specific terms in addition to the general terms set out in this document:

  • Non-refundable deposit: A non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of enrolment. The deposit amount is stated clearly at the time of purchase and varies by course.
  • Monthly usage charge: If you cancel a self-paced course after the cooling-off period, a monthly usage charge is calculated based on the number of full months elapsed since your enrolment date.
  • Examinations attended: No refund is available if you have attended any examinations or formal assessments as part of the course.
  • Payment default: If your payments are in default, access to course materials and learning platforms will be suspended until all outstanding amounts are cleared.

Pricing

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate. Prices are as displayed on our website or enrolment system at the time of booking.

Failed Payments & Default

If a scheduled payment fails, we will automatically retry the payment. Reminders are sent at 7 days and 3 days before each payment is due. If your payment card expires during a payment plan, we will send you a secure tokenised link to update your card details.

If payments remain outstanding, your course access will be suspended until the balance is cleared. You remain liable for all amounts due under your payment plan regardless of whether your access is suspended.

10. Examinations and Assessments

Examination and assessment fees are included in your course fee unless otherwise stated at the time of enrolment. Where exam fees are listed separately, the amount payable will be clearly communicated before you confirm your booking.

  • Resit fees: If you do not pass an examination, resit fees apply and will be communicated to you at the time of rebooking.
  • Exam booking: Examinations may be booked at an approved centre or via remote invigilation, depending on the awarding body and course requirements.
  • Date changes: Changes to a booked examination date may incur an additional fee, which will be advised at the time of your request.
  • No-show: If you fail to attend a booked examination without giving prior notice, the examination fee is forfeited and a new fee will be payable to rebook.

You are responsible for ensuring you are adequately prepared for all examinations and assessments. We will provide reasonable support and guidance, but the outcome of any examination is ultimately your responsibility.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. Where we make material changes, we will notify affected learners by email.

The Terms in force at the time of your enrolment apply to that enrolment for its duration. Any subsequent changes will not retrospectively affect the terms of your existing enrolment unless required by law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

20. Electrician Plus Multi-Course Offer

From time to time we run an "Electrician Plus" multi-course offer giving a £100 discount on a learner's second qualifying course. Where this offer is running, it is subject to the following terms:

  • Qualifying courses: the City & Guilds 2921-34 Domestic EV Charging course, the 2921-32/33 Large-Scale EV Charging course, and the 2922-34 & 2923-34 Solar PV & Battery Storage course.
  • The £100 discount is applied automatically at checkout to your second qualifying course, once you have booked a first qualifying course in your own name (deposit paid, payment plan started, or paid in full). The second course must be booked within 6 months of the first qualifying booking.
  • The discount is limited to one £100 discount per learner.
  • The offer applies to the individual learner only and is non-transferable. It cannot be claimed on behalf of, or shared with, another person.
  • The offer is available on online (self-service) bookings by individual learners only. It is not valid on invoice requests, or on company, employer-funded or multi-delegate bookings.
  • The discount cannot be combined with any other discount, promotional offer or sale price.
  • Where you pay by instalments, the £100 is spread proportionally across your deposit and instalments.
  • If your first qualifying course is cancelled or refunded, we reserve the right to withdraw any discount applied to the second course.

This offer may be amended or withdrawn at any time. The version of these Terms in force at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
