Up to 80% funding for serving and ex-military personnel through Enhanced Learning Credits. ELCAS Provider Number: 12999

What is ELCAS?

The Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS) is a UK Ministry of Defence initiative that provides financial support to members of the British Armed Forces for approved educational courses. It is designed to help service personnel gain qualifications that support their transition to civilian careers.

Through ELCAS, eligible personnel can receive up to 80% of tuition fees for approved courses at registered learning providers. You can make up to 3 claims in total, with a maximum of 1 claim per financial year (April to March).

How to Use Your ELCAS Credits

1

Register with ELCAS

Visit the ELCAS website and register or log in to your account. Serving personnel should register through their Education Staff. Service leavers should contact their Single Service Representative (SSR).

2

Check Your Eligibility & Balance

Verify your tier (lower or higher), remaining claims, and scheme expiry date in the ELCAS Members Area.

3

Choose Your Course

Browse our eligible courses above and decide which Level 3+ qualification fits your career goals. All our eligible courses are registered on the ELCAS system.

4

Contact Us to Confirm Your Place

Call us on 0115 666 2366 or email [email protected]. We will confirm course availability, dates, and the full cost so you can submit your claim.

5

Submit Your ELC Claim

Submit your claim via the ELCAS Members Area at least 15 working days before the course start date (25 working days for service leavers to allow MOD processing). Reference our provider number 12999.

6

Receive Your CAN

Once approved, you will receive a Claim Authorisation Note (CAN). Present this to us before the course begins. You pay your 20% personal contribution, and the MOD pays the remaining 80% directly to us.

7

Complete Your Training

After completing the course, submit the evaluation form in the ELCAS Members Area. This must be done before you can make any subsequent claims.

Important Rules

  • Claims must be submitted before the course starts — retrospective claims are not allowed
  • You must pay at least 20% of the course fee from your own resources
  • Only 1 claim per financial year (April to March)
  • You must complete the evaluation form after each course before submitting a subsequent claim
  • Cancellation or withdrawal from a course can affect future ELC eligibility
