Open-book practice
The real 2382-26 exam is open-book — bring BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 (not an earlier printing). Practise the same way: keep your book open and work on looking up regulations quickly. Knowing where to find answers, not just what the answers are, is what the exam tests.
What the Mock Exams Cover
The question bank covers the full 2382-26 syllabus based on BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, including all Amendment 4 additions. The Orange Book introduced five new technical areas — all of which appear in the 2382-26 exam and in our question bank.
Amendment 4 topics in the question bank
- ✓Chapter 57 — Battery energy storage systems: location rules, fire segregation, ventilation, testing
- ✓Section 716 — Power over Ethernet (PoE): cable selection, temperature management, shock protection
- ✓Section 545 — Functional earthing for ICT systems: distinguishing protective from functional earth
- ✓Low-voltage generators: protection, isolation, parallel operation, earthing arrangements
- ✓Energy efficiency design framework: power factor, cable sizing, integration of on-site generation
- ✓Section 710 (revised) — Medical locations: supplementary bonding test schedules, IT system requirements
Core BS 7671 topics are also covered: protection against electric shock, wiring systems, earthing, bonding, overcurrent protection, testing and verification, special locations, and inspection documentation.
Updated for Amendment 4 — Many Online Mocks Are Not
Be careful which mock you practise on. Many free 18th Edition mocks online were written for the old 2382-22 (Amendment 2) exam and have never been updated — practising on them trains you for a paper that no longer exists. The live exam is now the 2382-26, based on BS 7671:2018+A4:2026(the Orange Book), which added Power over Ethernet (Section 716), energy storage (Chapter 82), ICT earthing and revised medical-location requirements. This mock follows the current 2382-26 structure and outcome weighting — the same paper you will actually sit. And because we are a City & Guilds approved centre, you can book the real exam with us the moment you are ready.
Part 7 — Special Locations in the Exam
Part 7 questions are a significant portion of the 2382-26 paper. The exam tests familiarity with which special requirements apply to which locations — from bathrooms, swimming pools and saunas through construction sites, agricultural premises, caravan parks and marinas, to medical locations (revised in Amendment 4), solar PV, Power over Ethernet (new in Amendment 4) and EV charging installations (Sections 700–753). Know your way to each section number — the mock will show you which ones need work.
